Submissions are OPEN, and we will be reading for Issue Eight (Summer 2017) until May 2017 (more specific closing date forthcoming).

We're back. We want work that you love and that you're proud of. We want to see the work that you want to see in Wyvern. We want your weird and we want your normal and we want, maybe more than anything, your hovering at the fringe of the two. Read our old stuff, or don't. We're currently accepting fiction, flash fiction, and poetry.

For fiction, we're currently reading regular submissions, as well as entries for the triumphant return of our FLASH FICTION CONTEST (ends 14 May 2017). For poetry, we're looking for clusters, for thematic consistency, for suites of poems both within your own submissions and, ultimately, in the whole of what we publish in an issue. We want submissions of three to six poems with a thread that runs through them, with a yarn that weaves a tapestry of them all.

Simultaneous submissions are a-ok, but please let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere. We do not accept previously published material. If you have already submitted for an issue, please wait until the following issue's reading period before submitting again. Regrettably, we aren't able to pay at this time.

Please visit our submissions manager page to send us your work.

Currently, we are accepting:

FLASH FICTION - Up to 1,000 words. You can submit up to 3 in a single document.

FICTION - Up to 4,000 words.

POETRY - Three to six interconnected poems, totaling no more than 138 lines (six pages at 12pt, doublespaced Times New Roman).

Again, here's the link to submit, and please consider helping out with a Tip Jar submission!

As of 2017, Wyvern Lit publishes new issues biannually (not including theme issues) and is currently online-only.

Rights: If we accept your work, Wyvern Lit acquires First Serial Rights and Internet Rights to showcase your work indefinitely. All rights revert to author at publication, but it would be awesome if you could credit us as the first publisher if your work ends up getting published elsewhere. More on rights here.

We're so psyched to read your work. If you've got any questions, give us a shout via email or on Twitter at @wyvernlit.
